Drogba offers hospital for COVID-19 efforts

the retired Ivorian international Didier Drogba is reported to have offered his hospital which is located in the city of Abidjan to be used as a corona virus facility center by the Ivorian government. these news was posted on a Facebook page called Fans De Didier Drogba.

The hospital in question is named after the late Ivory Coast footballer Laurent Pokou, who died in 2016.



Vincent Toh Bi Irie The head of Abidjan’s regional council, stressed that the facility will be very useful in the country’s fight against the virus. he also thanked Drogba for the gesture which he termed as “patriotic” the current case of corona virus in the west African country stands at 574 cases, 85 recoveries and five deaths.

throughout his footbaling career, Drogba has played for Galatasaray, Le Mans, Guingamp, Olympique Marseilles, Shanghai Shenhua, Montreal Impact, and most notably Chelsea. He retired from active football in November 2018 the last team he played for was an american club called Phoenix Rising.
