a couple of hours ago, sky sports reported that Manchester United have reached a deadlock with Sporting Lisbon over the transfer of Bruno Fernandes after the Portuguese club increased the asking price. the sports website noted that,” Last summer, United and other clubs including Tottenham were quoted £39m (€45m) for the midfielder” presently the asking price is set at £68m (€80m) which means no further discussions between the two clubs. according to Sky Sports, “United feel their latest bid of £43m plus £17m in potential add-ons reflects Fernandes’ form – as the midfielder has 13 goals in 21 games all competitions for Sporting”

negotiations might  resume next week, being that the midfielder is one of united’s  primary target for the January transfer window.

the midfielder has a running contract which is expected to elapse in November 2023,  Fernandes had earlier on  said his goodbye to fans as he captained the team to a home defeat to Benfica but this sudden shift from the club has created uncertainty but it is believed that the transfer will still hold as the club will still meet to find a middle ground.

sky sports reports that “Personal terms have been agreed with Manchester United and Fernandes which will see him earn around £120,000 with United’s latest offer including add-ons and incentives based on how the club and player perform should the deal go through”

Manchester united has of recent been a shadow of it self, this can be attributed to injury snd other issues best known to the club.
